Nestled back from Spadina Avenue, and tucked just behind behemoth, Casa Loma sits the elegant Spadina Museum. Pictured above in the 1920′s/1930′s when it was the home of the notorious Austin family, it has been an ode to Toronto history (owned by the city and open to the public) since the 1984.

The Chestnut Park Top 10: Meet the Rosedale Locals
One of the oldest suburbs of downtown Toronto, Rosedale is one of the most picturesque and ideally-located areas in the city. Built among three ravines, parklands, and charming shops, it is the neighbourhood of choice for many prominent Torontonians. Four such local celebrities, Publicist Mary Symons, Publicist Suzanne Cohon, as well as society gals, Ashleigh Dempster and Amanda Blakley call this midtown enclave home. If your ever taking a brisk fall walk around the Rosedale neighbourhood, consider checking out some of their favourite restaurants, boutiques and services.
Property Then & Now: Toronto’s iconic Flatiron Building
While many assume that New York City’s Fuller Building set the tone for “flatiron” buildings in some of North America’s most significant cities, the Gooderham Building in Toronto (pictured above shortly after its completion in 1892, and below in 2012) was in fact the first of the series, designed by Architect David Roberts Jr. for the prominent Gooderham family of Gooderham & Worts distillery.
